Apple HomeView Wall Mount Lacks VESA Compatibility, Requires Specific Mounts
Apple's wall-mounted HomeView smart home hub does not support the VESA standard due to the absence of standardized mounting holes. The device requires proprietary Apple accessories or third-party solutions for wall installation.
Apple's wall-mounted HomeView smart home hub is not compatible with the standard VESA mounting system, according to reports. The device lacks the necessary threaded holes on its rear panel that are typically used to attach to universal wall mounts, monitor arms, or desktop stands.
The VESA standard, defined by the Video Electronics Standards Association, is commonly found on displays and TVs, allowing for interchangeable mounting hardware. HomeView features a USB-C port and a small protrusion, believed to be a proprietary mounting point for Apple's own accessories.
For wall installation, users will need to purchase separate mounting accessories offered by Apple or wait for compatible products from third-party manufacturers. Apple has partnered with Schneider Electric to offer two initial wall-mounting solutions.
The "Power Mount" is priced at $59.95 and allows for connection to a nearby power outlet. A "hardwired" option costs $79.95 and connects directly into the home's electrical system. Apple also plans a $129.95 "Power over Ethernet" (PoE) mount for future release, which will provide both power and a wired internet connection to the HomeView hub.
