Apple Integrates Local AI for China Market Launch
Apple will begin testing Apple Intelligence in China on November 4, incorporating Alibaba’s Qwen model into its software ecosystem.
Apple confirmed the rollout of its Apple Intelligence features for the Chinese market, marking a strategic pivot to comply with local requirements. The company will integrate Alibaba’s Qwen model into core features including Siri, writing tools, and visual intelligence.
The initial testing phase is scheduled to begin on November 4 via an iOS developer beta. A wider release is expected in December as part of the iOS 27.3 software update.
This deployment follows a trend of international tech firms partnering with local Chinese developers to navigate regulatory frameworks regarding AI development and data usage. The move aims to bring parity to the user experience for Apple customers in China compared to other global regions.
