Apple integrates Siri visual intelligence into iPadOS camera app
Apple has added a dedicated Siri tab to the camera application in the latest iPadOS 27.3 developer preview, enabling direct access to visual intelligence features.
Apple has introduced a new Siri entry point within the camera application for specific iPad models as part of the iPadOS 27.3 developer preview. This update mirrors the functionality previously deployed to iPhone 15 Pro and newer handsets.
The feature allows users to access visual recognition capabilities—such as identifying landmarks, plants, and translating text—directly from the camera interface. Compatibility is limited to devices equipped with M1 or newer processors, alongside iPads featuring A17 Pro or A20 Pro chips.
While visual intelligence tools were already accessible on iPad hardware, the current update streamlines the user experience by reducing the number of steps required to launch the service. The company expects a public release for iPadOS 27.3 in December, though feature availability may remain subject to regional and linguistic constraints.
