Apple introduces audio intelligence features in latest watchOS beta
The new watchOS 27.3 developer beta includes two audio-based features: Siri Recap for conversation summaries and Live Rewind for transcription.

Apple has integrated new audio intelligence tools into its watchOS 27.3 developer beta, marking an expansion of the wearable's ambient listening capabilities. The update introduces Siri Recap, a feature designed to synthesize summaries from ongoing conversations, and Live Rewind, which provides text-based playback of audio captured by the device.
Live Rewind offers users a way to review recent speech by storing the last 15 seconds of audio captured through the microphone. By performing a double-press of the Digital Crown, users can display a text transcript of this audio snippet, a tool intended to assist with recalling missed information during discussions.
These additions reflect a broader industry trend of incorporating generative AI directly onto edge devices to enhance accessibility and data processing. By handling audio transcription and summarization locally on the watch, Apple aims to reduce reliance on cloud processing while increasing the utility of the hardware's onboard sensors.
The features are currently restricted to developer beta testers. There is no confirmed date for a public rollout, but the implementation suggests that voice-driven data management will be a focus for upcoming watchOS iterations.
