Apple Introduces iPhone Handoff Feature

Apple has introduced iPhone Handoff, a new feature designed to allow users to maintain their phone number's activity on two iPhones concurrently. This functionality aims to provide a seamless transition between devices.

Users designate one iPhone as the primary device and the other as secondary. When the secondary phone is unlocked, the phone number becomes active on that device, directing calls and enabling the 'Find My' service for that specific handset.

The concept behind iPhone Handoff is to offer flexibility, particularly for situations where a user might prefer a secondary phone for specific times, such as weekends. This secondary device can be configured with distinct apps and settings, separate from the primary phone.

This new Handoff feature should not be confused with Apple's existing Handoff functionality, which facilitates continuity across different Apple devices for tasks like calls and app usage. The iPhone Handoff specifically addresses the management of a single phone number across multiple iPhones.
