Apple's iOS 17 will introduce a new paste shortcut button, allowing users to paste text, links, and images with a single tap directly from the keyboard.
Apple is set to enhance the input experience in its upcoming iOS 17 operating system with a new shortcut button. This feature will appear above the keyboard after content is copied, enabling users to paste it with a single tap.
The enhancement builds upon previous functionalities introduced in iOS 12, which included automatic display of verification codes. The new system aims to recognize and offer pasting of more diverse content types, including text, web links, and images.
For example, users copying a link in Safari will see an option to paste it directly into apps like Notes via the shortcut button. The system will identify the copied link and present it for quick insertion.
Image pasting is also being streamlined. If a user copies an image, for instance from Reddit, and switches to the Messages app, they will be presented with a "Paste from Reddit" option accompanied by a thumbnail preview.
These updates are expected to significantly speed up content manipulation and sharing for iPhone users running iOS 17.
