Sales momentum is expected to continue, with projections suggesting cumulative sales will exceed 2.5 million units by the end of week 40, driven by trends observed during the recent National Day holiday period. The devices officially went on sale in China on September 18, 2026, with starting prices set at 9999 yuan (approximately $1370 USD) for models with 256GB of storage.
The iPhone 18 Pro series features the new A20 Pro chip, manufactured using TSMC's 2-nanometer process. Apple claims this chip delivers significant improvements in both CPU and GPU performance, alongside enhanced on-device AI capabilities. The devices also incorporate an upgraded vapor chamber cooling system for sustained performance.
Camera enhancements include a 48-megapixel main sensor with a new variable aperture technology, allowing users to manually adjust between f/1.48, f/1.8, f/2.8, and f/4.0. This feature is accessible through the camera app and via an API for third-party applications. The iPhone 18 Pro Max also boasts improved battery life and faster charging, capable of reaching 50% charge in approximately 15 minutes with a 60W power adapter.
