Apple Launches AirPods 5 at Lower Price Point
Apple has released the AirPods 5, priced $30 lower than their predecessors. The new earbuds feature improved active noise cancellation and volume controls on the stems.

Apple has introduced the new AirPods 5 wireless earbuds, significantly reducing the cost compared to previous models. The AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case are priced at $149, a $30 decrease from the AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation they replace.
The updated earbuds boast enhanced active noise cancellation capabilities. Additionally, the AirPods 5 are the first non-Pro AirPods to feature volume controls directly on the stem, allowing users to adjust audio levels without their connected device.
A more basic version, the $129 AirPods 5, is also available but lacks wireless charging and stem-based volume controls. Apple states these new models offer more value for the price than prior iterations, potentially diminishing the appeal of the standard AirPods 5 in favor of the version with enhanced features.
Visually, the AirPods 5 and their charging case maintain the same design as the AirPods 4. The primary changes focus on feature set and pricing strategy.
