Apple Maps Bans Ads for Household Services, Crypto ATMs, and More

Apple has revised its advertising guidelines for Apple Maps, introducing new restrictions that explicitly ban advertisements for certain service categories. The update prohibits ads for bail bond services, cryptocurrency ATMs, and household services, which include areas like plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC.

Effective July 14, the updated Apple Maps advertising policy clearly states that advertisements for these services are no longer permitted. This change aims to refine the types of businesses that can advertise on the mapping platform.

Furthermore, the guidelines emphasize that all ads must be clear and transparent, and advertisers are prohibited from directing users to irrelevant pages or using misleading language. Medical service advertisements will be subject to case-by-case review rather than a blanket approval or denial.

Political advertisements also continue to be restricted on the platform under the updated policy. These revisions signal Apple's ongoing effort to control the advertising landscape within its services to ensure relevance and user trust.
