Apple May Reveal Smart Glasses at WWDC 2027

Apple is planning to reveal its first smart glasses at its upcoming WWDC event in June. The devices are expected to reach the market by the end of 2027, according to Mark Gurman.

A significant part of the delay may be attributed to the company's efforts to solidify privacy features and messaging. Smart glasses generally, and Meta's devices in particular, have faced controversy over their ability to discreetly capture photos and videos.

Apple has spent over a decade establishing privacy as a core tenet of its product identity. Entering the same market segment as Meta, regardless of its differing approach, risks potentially undermining this established reputation.
