Apple moves M&A head to services, names new deal lead

Apple has reorganized key leadership roles within its mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and corporate development teams. Adrian Perica, who has spent more than 17 years leading these efforts, will now focus exclusively on the company's services division. He will report to Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services.

In his new capacity, Perica will dedicate his time to the expansive services business, which includes offerings like iCloud, Fitness+, and News, areas he began overseeing in 2023. Concurrently, Steve Smith has been appointed to lead the M&A and corporate development function. Smith will report to Apple's Chief Financial Officer, Kevan Parekh.

The company has also promoted Carson Oliver to the position of vice president of the App Store. These internal movements signal Apple's ongoing strategic focus on expanding its services portfolio and managing its corporate development activities.
