Apple Music Beta for Android Adopts 'Liquid Glass' Design
Apple has released version 7.0 of its Apple Music beta application for Android devices. This update brings the 'liquid glass' design language to Android for the first time, a year after its introduction on iOS.
Apple has rolled out version 7.0 of its Apple Music application as a beta for Android devices. This release marks the first introduction of Apple's 'liquid glass' design language to the Android platform, approximately one year after its debut on iOS.
The updated Android version features a floating bottom navigation bar, allowing users to view content above, below, and to the sides more effectively. The navigation bar incorporates a subtle translucent effect, enabling users to see solid background colors underneath. Unlike the iOS counterpart, the bottom bar does not collapse when scrolling but remains in its full form.
Additionally, the mini-player at the top of the screen has been redesigned and is no longer aligned with the bottom bar. Page titles and overflow menu items are now on the same line. The 'Library' tab has seen significant changes, with 'Edit Pins' and 'Edit Categories' now relocated to the overflow menu.
Artist pages have also been enhanced, featuring a background that is thematically adjusted to the album artwork, aligning more closely with the iOS design. The play button is more prominent, and the share button has been moved to the upper right corner. The settings page has been modernized with a more logical grouping of options.
These visual updates, including edge-to-edge status and navigation bars, aim to create a more consistent user experience across different operating systems. The beta version is currently available for Android users to test.
