Apple Pay Launches In India With Axis Bank Partnership

Apple Pay has officially entered the Indian market, establishing Axis Bank as its first banking partner. The rollout allows users to link Visa and Mastercard credit cards issued by Axis Bank for transactions.

With this launch, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch users can now utilize Apple Pay for payments within applications, on websites, and at physical retail locations equipped with contactless payment terminals. Support for Mac devices is expected to be added in the near future.

The payment service is being integrated across various merchant networks through collaborations with payment infrastructure providers, including Juspay and Cashfree, as well as other payment service providers. Juspay has stated that merchants on its platform can add Apple Pay to their existing online payment flows without requiring separate integration efforts.

Apple Pay is becoming available to consumers through participating merchants in sectors such as travel, entertainment, fashion, quick commerce, and healthcare. Cashfree has also enabled the service for its business clients in India, allowing them to offer Apple Pay as a payment option at their checkout points.
