This new migration process aims to provide users with a smoother transition when switching between apps from the same developer. Users are expected to be presented with options to either "Move App Data and Settings" or "Don't Move Anything." If a user opts for migration, the iPhone may automate the process before the new app is used, leading to the eventual removal of the old application.

However, the feature's current design appears to restrict data transfers to apps from the same developer, preventing cross-developer migrations. Should a user decline the data transfer, iOS might display a secondary confirmation prompt, warning about potential manual reconfiguration of certain preferences, such as notification and location settings.
