Apple raises prices on older iPhone models by $100

Apple has raised the prices of all previous-generation iPhone models still available for purchase by $100. The price adjustments followed the company's "Surprise and shine" event, where the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro were announced.

The iPhone 16, previously priced at $699, now sells for $799. The iPhone 17E with 256GB of storage has seen its price increase from $599 to $699. Similarly, the iPhone 17 now starts at $899 for the 256GB model, up from $799.

The trend extends to other older models as well. The iPhone Air now carries a price tag of $1,099, compared to its previous $999 price. Apple did not unveil the base iPhone 18 model at its September event, concentrating instead on its highest-end devices.

These price increases apply to models that remain in Apple's product lineup. The company has not provided a specific reason for the price adjustments.
