Apple Reclaims Title as World's Most Valuable Company, Surpassing Nvidia
Apple's market capitalization exceeded $4.95 trillion on July 27, surpassing Nvidia to become the world's highest-valued publicly traded company. The tech giant is nearing the $5 trillion milestone.

Apple's stock price rose 1.17% on Thursday, July 27, reaching a new all-time high and pushing its market capitalization above $4.95 trillion. With this gain, Apple has once again surpassed Nvidia to reclaim the position of the world's most valuable publicly traded company.
Nvidia's stock fell approximately 5% on the same day, marking its largest single-day drop since June 5. Nvidia's market cap receded to between roughly $4.83 trillion and $4.87 trillion. The two companies have frequently swapped the top spot recently; Apple briefly overtook Nvidia on July 17 before the positions changed again. This marks Apple's second time reaching the top valuation this month.
Apple's stock has surged approximately 22.5% since late June, closing at $336.91 per share on July 27. This climb in valuation occurs during a key period of leadership transition for the company. Apple announced in April that current CEO Tim Cook will transition to the role of Executive Chairman on September 1, 2026, with hardware engineering senior vice president John Ternus set to take over as CEO.
Cook has served as Apple's CEO since 2011. The company is scheduled to announce its third-quarter earnings on July 30, which will be Cook's final earnings call as CEO.
