Apple releases first macOS 27.3 developer beta with potential language updates
Apple has issued the first developer preview of macOS 27.3, featuring potential expansion of Siri AI language support to include Traditional Chinese.
Apple has released the first developer beta of macOS 27.3, identified by build number 26C5035r. The update arrives one week after the rollout of macOS 27.2 and signals a shift in the operating system's AI capabilities.
Reports indicate that this preview version may expand the language support for the platform's AI-driven Siri assistant. While initial releases were limited to English, Apple added French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish in the previous iteration. The company previously outlined a timeline to incorporate Traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish, and Vietnamese by the end of 2026.
In addition to the macOS developments, Apple has begun testing Apple Intelligence features for Chinese-market iPhones through a concurrent iOS 27.3 beta release. Other platforms, including Mac, remain excluded from these specific regional feature activations for the time being.
Beyond language updates, the macOS 27.3 beta continues to refine system interfaces and gesture controls to improve touch-input functionality. Apple also released candidate versions for legacy operating systems, including macOS Sequoia 15.8.3 and macOS Tahoe 26.7.3, to maintain compatibility for older hardware.
