Apple Releases HomeView Smart Home Hub Showcasing Siri AI
Apple announced the HomeView smart home hub, priced at $299, which serves as a showcase for its enhanced Siri AI capabilities. The device personalizes information and controls smart home devices.
Apple unveiled its new HomeView smart home hub on Tuesday, with the device set to retail for $299 and begin shipping on November 13. The announcement positions the hub as a central point for Apple's expanded Siri artificial intelligence features.
The HomeView features a 7-inch screen and can be wall-mounted or placed on a table. It is designed to recognize individual users by face, displaying personalized information from apps like Messages, Photos, Calendar, and Reminders, powered by Apple Intelligence. The device also includes a built-in speaker for audio playback and supports up to six users.
In addition to its personal information display, HomeView can be used for FaceTime calls and as a digital photo frame. It is powered by the Apple A18 chip. Apple also announced updates to its Apple TV 4K and HomePod Mini during the same event.
The new products integrate into Apple's smart home ecosystem, acting as a hub to coordinate notifications and actions. HomeView is designed to work with a range of smart home products from partners such as LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, simplifying setup through iPhone integration.
