Apple Releases iOS 17.2 Beta 4 Update
Apple has released the fourth developer preview of iOS 17.2. The update temporarily removes the new Health app and updates the Apple Music brand visuals.
Apple released the fourth developer preview of its iOS/iPadOS 17.2 operating system on Thursday, October 14.
Key changes in this update include the temporary removal of the redesigned Health app and updates to Apple Music's branding. Apple had previously stated that the new Health app experience was not intended for iOS 17.2 and is undergoing further testing for a later release. Users updating to this beta will see a message indicating new features will arrive in future updates, though data collected remains accessible in the Settings app.
Apple Music has received a visual refresh with an updated app icon. The new icon features a monochrome design, shifting away from the previous red and white. It appears as white on black in dark mode and black on white in light mode. Sources also suggest a potential shift in Apple Music's primary accent color from red to blue.
The beta update also contains references to potential new features for HomePod devices, including a "Sound Glow" switch for dynamic visual experiences during media playback. Additionally, mirroring the HomeView screen to an iPhone, similar to Apple Watch functionality, is indicated.
