Apple releases new iMac and MacBook Pro models with M6 chip
Apple has officially launched its latest iMac and 14-inch MacBook Pro computers featuring the newly introduced M6 processor.
Apple has expanded its hardware lineup with the release of the updated iMac and 14-inch MacBook Pro, both powered by the new M6 chip. The devices are now available for purchase in China, with starting prices set at 12,499 yuan for the iMac and 15,999 yuan for the MacBook Pro.
The new iMac maintains its existing industrial design while integrating internal upgrades, including support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Depending on the model, the machine features either 10-core or 12-core CPU configurations. The 14-inch MacBook Pro also utilizes the M6 chip, with Apple claiming significant gains in on-device AI processing speeds compared to the M1-series laptops.
Technical specifications reveal an increase in memory bandwidth to 170 GB/s for models equipped with 24GB or 32GB of unified memory. However, the 16GB entry-level versions remain capped at 153 GB/s, mirroring the bandwidth performance found in the previous M5-based models. This distinction underscores that the full memory performance benefits are reserved for higher-tier memory configurations.
