Apple Releases New Mac mini and Mac Studio Desktop Computers

Cupertino, California – Apple has unexpectedly unveiled two new desktop computer models: an updated Mac Studio and a new Mac mini. The new machines introduce the company's latest chip technologies, the M6 and M5 series, and continue a trend of price increases.

The Mac mini now features a new base model equipped with the M6 chip, alongside a more powerful option with the M5 Pro chip. The Mac Studio, in turn, receives the new M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips, which are more powerful than the M6. Both machines are popular for running large language models and AI applications locally.

Price increases have been notable across Apple's products recently. The entry-level Mac mini now starts at $899, following a previous increase to $799 earlier this summer. The M5 Pro model begins at $1,699. Mac Studio pricing starts at $2,499 for the M5 Max version, reaching up to $5,499 for the M5 Ultra model.

Shipments for the new Mac models are scheduled to begin on September 22. Price hikes are expected to persist due to component supply challenges and growing demand for AI-related computing power.
