Apple Releases Rebuilt Siri AI With Feature Limitations for Newer Devices

Apple has unveiled its significantly rebuilt Siri AI, integrated into the iOS 27 update. The voice assistant aims to become more personal and context-aware, capable of drawing information from messages, email, and photos to act within compatible apps.

However, the full capabilities of Siri AI will not be universally accessible. While iOS 27 will be widely distributed, the advanced AI features, branded as Apple Intelligence, require newer, higher-memory devices. This creates a tiered user experience, reserving the most advanced functions for premium product owners.

For users in markets like India, the AI faces challenges in understanding local accents and speech patterns, with reports indicating inconsistent reliability even for routine tasks. Beyond device requirements, Apple has signaled that some server-based AI features may introduce usage caps, potentially leading to a tiered subscription model from 2027, possibly linked to iCloud+.
