Apple releases updated iPad mini with A20 Pro chip
Apple has launched the latest iteration of its iPad mini, featuring the A20 Pro processor and performance enhancements over previous models.
Apple has officially released the newest iPad mini in China, powered by the A20 Pro chipset. The tablet is available starting at 5,499 yuan, with various local retail subsidies applying to the final transaction price.
The core of the upgrade is the A20 Pro processor, which utilizes an architecture derived from Apple's M-series chips. Performance benchmarks indicate a 1.6x increase in CPU speed and a 2.7x improvement in GPU capabilities compared to the predecessor. The chip configuration is segmented by storage capacity: 128GB and 256GB models feature a 5-core CPU, while the 512GB model includes a 6-core CPU.
The hardware has been reduced in thickness by 14 percent and weight by 13 percent. The display transition to OLED technology offers a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. Additionally, the tablet now carries an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, surviving submersion for up to 30 minutes in one meter of water.
Connectivity features have been upgraded to include support for Bluetooth 6 and the Thread networking protocol. The lineup spans from 128GB to 512GB, with both Wi-Fi and cellular models available for purchase.
