Apple reportedly developing AI security camera sending text alerts
Bloomberg reports Apple is preparing a smart home security camera that uses AI to analyze surroundings and sends text notifications, without recording video footage.

Apple is reportedly developing its first smart home security camera, codenamed J450, which is expected to work in conjunction with the company's upcoming Home Hub device. The information comes from Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman.
The J450 is described as having a metallic cylindrical design. It will utilize an AI model to analyze its environment at a low frame rate. Importantly, the device is not intended for traditional video recording or storage. Instead, it will report home activities through text-based notifications.
Integrated facial recognition capabilities will allow the camera to identify individuals entering or leaving a room or the residence. The system is also designed to recognize pet activity and send corresponding text alerts to users. This focus on privacy distinguishes it from conventional surveillance equipment.
The development signifies Apple's continued push into the smart home market. While no specific release date has been announced, the device aims to provide users with home awareness while prioritizing user privacy.
