Apple reportedly developing AI server with M-series Ultra chips

The project, which began approximately a year ago, is said to have received support from Apple's new CEO, John Ternus, during his tenure leading hardware engineering.

The anticipated server is expected to come in configurations with either two or four of Apple's future M8 Ultra chips, according to The Information. This move would mark Apple's re-entry into the server market after nearly two decades, aiming to leverage the increasing adoption of its hardware by AI developers.
