Apple reports record Mac sales for fiscal year 2026

Apple CEO John Ternus confirmed that the company sold more Mac units in fiscal year 2026 than in any previous year in its history.

Apple achieved record-breaking sales for its Mac product line during the 2026 fiscal year, which ended September 26, 2026. CEO John Ternus confirmed the milestone during the company’s fourth-quarter earnings call, attributing the growth to strong demand across the portfolio.

Chief Financial Officer Kevan Parekh noted that performance was driven largely by sales of the MacBook Neo and MacBook Pro models. The company has also expanded its desktop lineup with the release of Mac mini units featuring M6 and M5 Pro chips, alongside Mac Studio models equipped with M5 Max and M5 Ultra silicon.

Industry analysts suggest the sustained demand reflects the transition to proprietary Apple Silicon, which has improved performance and power efficiency. Despite increased competition in the global PC market and pressure from Windows-based AI laptops, the Mac division continues to maintain its market position through its hardware architecture.

This record performance follows a strategic shift in Apple's computing division. Investors continue to monitor how these hardware sales translate to long-term services revenue and user ecosystem retention.
