Apple schedules regional rollout for Intelligence features in China
Apple confirmed plans to introduce a suite of AI-driven features to its devices in China with the upcoming iOS 27.3 update, beginning with a beta release in November.
Apple has announced that its Intelligence suite will arrive for users in China alongside the release of iOS 27.3. The rollout is scheduled to commence with a beta version on November 4, followed by a general software release in December.
While the platform expands, the update will not include the upgraded Siri AI capabilities. Instead, the deployment focuses on utility-based tools, including notification summaries, real-time translation, text proofreading, and visual intelligence features for photo editing.
To facilitate the local integration, Apple has collaborated with Alibaba to incorporate support for the Qwen language model. This strategic move aims to ensure compliance and functionality within the complex regulatory environment of the Chinese technology market, where foreign AI tools face stringent data and content requirements.
