Apple has confirmed that new versions of its operating systems โ€“ iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS โ€“ are scheduled for release on September 15. The upcoming updates are set to bring advancements in user interface design, application performance, and child safety features.

The new OS versions feature refined visual elements, including an improved "Liquid Glass" effect designed for more uniform light refraction and enhanced contrast, aiming for clearer readability. Users will reportedly gain the ability to adjust the appearance of this effect. Additionally, Apple claims faster app launch times for iPhone and iPad applications, alongside speedier AirDrop transfers.

For Apple Watch users, the update will introduce more widgets that will appear in the Smart Stack as needed. The visionOS platform will offer quicker notification previews; users can simply look at a notification to expand it and take further action directly from the alert.

A significant focus of this release is the enhancement of child safety measures. A new "Setup Assistant" will allow parents to control which system apps their children can access. A "Request Browsing" feature will require parental permission before children can access new websites, and "Communication Safety" aims to detect and prevent the sharing or viewing of nudity in messages and FaceTime calls.

As the release date approaches, Apple is preparing users for the rollout, which can also be accessed through beta testing programs for both public users and developers.
