Apple TV 4K Updated With Minor Changes
Apple has released a new Apple TV 4K after a four-year gap. The update brings modest improvements but omits several anticipated features and increases the price.
Apple has announced an updated Apple TV 4K media player, the first refresh in four years. While the device features a new processor and support for updated standards, many user-requested features, such as 4K/120Hz support and enhanced home control integration, were not included.
The new Apple TV 4K largely retains the design and core functionality of its predecessor. A significant change is the discontinuation of the lower-cost 64GB Wi-Fi-only model. The lineup now consists solely of a 128GB model with both Wi-Fi and Ethernet, accompanied by a price increase.
While the Apple TV 4K remains a competitive option in the media streaming market, this iteration falls short of expectations for substantial innovation. The updates are unlikely to drastically alter the user experience for existing owners.
