Apple unveils first foldable iPhone Duo in India
Apple has launched its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, in India. The device will be available from October 23, starting at ₹3 Lakh.
Apple entered the foldable smartphone market with the unveiling of its iPhone Duo at an event yesterday. The device is set to go on sale in India on October 23, with a starting price of ₹3 Lakh (approximately $3,600) for the 256GB model. This launch marks Apple's entry into a segment where rivals like Samsung and Google have been active for years.
Alongside the foldable device, Apple also introduced its iPhone 18 range, including the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. These models will be available starting September 18, with the iPhone 18 Pro starting at ₹1.6 Lakh ($1,920).
The iPhone Duo features a 7.6-inch foldable internal display and a 5.4-inch external screen. It is powered by Apple's new A20 Pro chipset, which also drives the iPhone 18 series. The foldable phone is equipped with a 48-megapixel main camera.
The product announcements were made during the first major presentation by new Apple CEO John Ternus. The company also increased prices for some older iPhone models in India. These launches follow Apple's report of strong revenue growth in India for the June quarter.
