Apple has announced its first smart home display, the HomeView. The device features a 7-inch touchscreen and integrated Siri, intended to serve as a smart home hub.
Apple has introduced the HomeView, its first smart home display. The device is designed to function as a controller for smart home devices and a personal assistant, integrating with Apple's Siri AI and serving as a central hub for the household.
The HomeView is equipped with a 7-inch Liquid Retina touchscreen, which has been noted for its brightness and responsiveness. The device is physically smaller than anticipated, with an aluminum base housing a speaker. The display is reported to render photos and interface elements clearly.
Initial impressions suggest the device's primary function is to act as an interface for managing smart home devices. Users can apparently control compatible appliances directly through the screen or via Siri commands.
Apple has not yet released specific details regarding the HomeView's availability or pricing, but the device represents a further step in the company's expansion into the smart home market.
