Apple updates creative software suite with AI and workflow tools
Apple is set to release a free update in November for its creative suite, integrating MotionVFX into Final Cut Pro and adding AI automation support for iWork apps.
Apple announced a significant update to its creative software lineup, scheduled for release in November. The update integrates MotionVFX tools directly into Final Cut Pro for Mac, allowing editors to access specialized visual effects, tracking, and color grading without exiting the application.
The update also focuses on workflow efficiency, enabling direct round-trip editing between Final Cut Pro and Pixelmator Pro. Furthermore, Logic Pro is receiving a user interface redesign and automated audio analysis tools designed to streamline the management of loops and sound libraries.
Productivity applications including Keynote, Pages, and Numbers are adding support for the .keyx file format. This JSON-based structure, combined with new Model Context Protocol (MCP) support, enables external AI agents to programmatically access, edit, and automate documents within these applications.
The update will be available at no additional cost to existing subscribers. Users can continue to access the software through the App Store via monthly subscriptions or perpetual licenses for individual professional applications.
