Apple updates iMac and MacBook Pro with M6 chip

Apple has updated its iMac and 14-inch MacBook Pro lineups with the M6 processor. The rollout follows the chip's initial introduction in the Mac mini hardware refresh earlier this month.

The iMac is now available in two distinct configurations. The base model features a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU with two Thunderbolt ports, while the more capable version includes a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU with four Thunderbolt ports.

Memory and storage limits also differ between the configurations. The two-port model supports up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, whereas the four-port model allows for up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage.
