Apple's Foldable iPhone Duo to Feature Simplified Lock Screen Focus Controls

Apple's upcoming foldable iPhone Duo is set to introduce a streamlined Focus mode control on its lock screen. These changes aim to simplify activating and deactivating Focus modes directly from the device's external display.

Apple's forthcoming foldable iPhone Duo is reportedly receiving an updated design for its lock screen Focus mode controls. Recent findings from testing versions of iOS 27.1 suggest that Apple is simplifying how users manage Focus modes on the device's smaller external display.

The redesigned interface will replace text labels with icons for Focus modes, making the controls more compact for the limited screen real estate. This modification allows users to enable or disable a Focus mode with a single tap directly on the lock screen, a change from current versions where this action redirects to the settings page.

Additionally, the Focus mode icon is expected to be repositioned above the clock on the lock screen. This placement aims to distinguish it from the clock and a relocated Dock bar, providing a clearer overview and quicker access to mode management.

The Safari browser on the iPhone Duo will also gain support for new web APIs: Device Posture API and Viewport Segments API. These are designed to allow webpages to dynamically adapt their layout and content based on the device's folded or unfolded state, enhancing the user experience on foldable devices.
