Apple's MacBook Neo Attracts New Generation of Buyers
Apple shipped 1.1 million units of its MacBook Neo in the initial weeks following its launch. The laptop's more accessible price point is bringing the Mac experience to a broader audience.

Apple's new MacBook Neo laptop has emerged as an early success, appealing to a new generation of buyers and expanding the company's market reach.
According to data from market intelligence firm IDC, Apple shipped 1.1 million units of the MacBook Neo in the first weeks it was available for sale. This figure surpasses the initial shipment numbers for recent MacBook Air (M5) and MacBook Pro (M5) models during their respective launch quarters.
The MacBook Neo, introduced in early March with a starting price of $599, is positioned as a more affordable entry into the Mac ecosystem, representing a nearly 45% decrease from the entry-level MacBook Air. The laptop retains key design elements, including an aluminum chassis and a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, while incorporating strategic compromises to achieve its lower price point.
This new model is designed to make the Mac experience accessible to a wider range of consumers, aiming to compete in the more budget-conscious segment of the portable computer market. The strong initial sales suggest a significant demand for Apple's platform at a more attainable price, potentially broadening the company's user base.
