Apple's New Siri Remote Works With Older Apple TV Models
Apple's new Siri Remote, featuring Find My compatibility and a built-in speaker, is available for separate purchase and works with previous Apple TV generations.
Apple has released a new Siri Remote that is compatible with all Apple TV models dating back to the Apple TV HD. The remote is also available for standalone purchase at $59.
The updated remote includes enhanced Find My support, allowing users to locate a misplaced device. Previous Siri Remote versions offered a more basic feature for finding a lost remote.
However, the precise location details of the Find My feature, such as distance in feet, require a newer iPhone model, specifically an iPhone 17 or later. Older iPhone models will only provide general proximity information like "far" or "near."
