Apple's product roadmap through 2029 revealed
Apple is preparing for its largest hardware launch cycle, introducing new product categories like foldable iPhones and smart glasses by 2027.

Apple is set to initiate its most extensive hardware launch cycle in history, with plans to introduce new product forms and enter new device categories as early as 2026, according to reports from IT Home citing Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
The company's product roadmap, developed over approximately five years, is overseen by teams led by John Ternus, who describes the upcoming period as a new era of innovation. The initial phase, starting with an event on September 9, will unveil new iPhones and Apple Watches, but this is just the beginning of a broader strategy.
By late 2026 and early 2027, Apple is expected to launch a foldable iPhone, internally referred to as iPhone Ultra, priced over $2,000. This period will also see the introduction of the iPhone 18 series, Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, updated AirPods, and a new smart home hub with a 7-inch display.
Further expansions are planned for 2027, including the first MacBook Pros with touchscreens and OLED displays, alongside updated iPad models featuring OLED technology. Apple also aims to enter the smart glasses market. The roadmap extends to 2028 and 2029, with potential for advanced home robots and a redesigned Apple Vision Pro.
