AquaAction selects 10 water tech companies for Michigan's blue economy

AquaAction has launched its first U.S. AquaEntrepreneur Michigan program, selecting ten water technology companies to participate. The program, officially initiated on September 23, 2026, will support the commercialization of promising solutions addressing key freshwater challenges.

The chosen companies include Accelerated Filtration, AmHyTech, DMR International, Geomind (operating as Lacuum), Green Steel Environmental, Myconaut, Nucleic Sensing Systems, Radmantis, Sequestro, and Subtidal. Over an intensive ten-month period, these companies will receive customized coaching, technical guidance, and opportunities to pilot their technologies in real-world settings, aiming to transition innovations into commercial successes.

The program's launch was marked at the Michigan Blue Economy Summit, held in partnership with AquaAction and the University of Michigan-Flint. The summit convened leaders across sectors to define priorities and opportunities for growing an innovative freshwater economy within the Great Lakes region.

"It's an essential moment for Michigan to define its place in the Blue Economy," stated Delaney Keating, AquaAction's Director of Programs and Operations, United States. "We are excited to be part of the greater mission to serve freshwater, to develop rapid commercialization pathways, and to collaborate with the many partners already working on the ground."

The Michigan program is a component of AquaAction's broader binational work in the Great Lakes St. Lawrence region. It represents the first U.S. expansion of AquaAction's flagship commercialization program, which has previously assisted 72 companies in executing 550 pilot projects and generating a total of CAD$260 million in annual revenue.
