AR Glasses Shipments to Nearly Double to 1.31 Million Units in 2026
TrendForce forecasts global AR glasses shipments to reach 1.31 million units in 2026, an increase of 111.1% year-over-year. Meta's success with its Ray-Ban AR glasses is accelerating consumer market development.
Global shipments of augmented reality (AR) glasses are projected to nearly double in 2026, reaching 1.31 million units, according to a new report by analyst firm TrendForce. This represents a significant year-over-year increase of 111.1% from an estimated 620,000 units in 2025.
The growth is largely attributed to the momentum generated by Meta Platforms' Ray-Ban Display Glasses. This product has boosted consumer interest and prompted other brands and their supply chains to accelerate product development and market expansion.
Meta is expected to maintain its leading position in the AR glasses market, holding approximately a 20% share of shipments in 2026. Four other key players—XREAL, Even Realities, Rokid, and RayNeo—collectively account for over 53% of the market. These companies are focusing on distinct market segments, with some specializing in viewing experiences and others in information display.
The expanding AR glasses market is also driving demand for OLEDoS and LEDoS display technologies, which are projected to capture about 80% of the market. The industry is poised to solidify its presence in the consumer electronics sector.
