Arena Physica brings electromagnetic AI to Microsoft Discovery
Arena Physica has made its electromagnetic foundation model, Heaviside, available on Microsoft Discovery. The model aims to significantly accelerate the verification process for electronic designs.

Arena Physica has launched its electromagnetic foundation model, Heaviside, on the Microsoft Discovery platform. The model is designed to significantly speed up the verification process for designs in the RF, photonics, and semiconductor industries.
Traditionally, verifying electromagnetic designs can take hours or days. Heaviside-1, released in September, predicts electromagnetic field behavior in milliseconds, up to 100,000 times faster than conventional solvers. The model was trained on extensive data from 3D simulations.
Arena Physica believes Heaviside addresses the bottleneck of slow verification in electromagnetic design. The collaboration with Microsoft enables integration with the Discovery platform, which offers high-performance computing and enterprise-level security features.
"We are proud to collaborate with Microsoft to bring Heaviside to Discovery and accelerate the verification loop," said Michael Frei, Chief Research Officer at Arena Physica. The model's speed is expected to provide significant advantages for engineering teams, particularly in the semiconductor sector for tasks such as antenna and chip design.
