AriZona Iced Tea Co-Founder Sued by Former Assistant Over Promised Home

John Ferolito, the billionaire co-founder of AriZona Iced Tea, is engaged in a legal battle with his former assistant, Fayssanya "Fay" Pratt, over a home in Coral Springs, Florida. Pratt, who worked for Ferolito for 23 years, claims the businessman promised to give her the property.
According to Pratt, the dispute began after her own home was damaged by a flood in 2017. She alleges that Ferolito offered to purchase a new home for her, promising to deed the property to her. Ferolito, however, denies making such a promise, stating in his lawsuit that Pratt lost any right to reside in the home when he terminated her employment.
Ferolito's lawsuit contends that he offered to buy the house as an investment property and allow Pratt and her family to live there only as long as she remained employed by him. Pratt, conversely, points to Ferolito's past actions, including providing her with a vehicle and assisting with her son's dental care, as evidence of his intent to honor his promise.
The core of the legal conflict lies in the interpretation of an alleged oral agreement. Pratt is expected to argue that Ferolito's prior conduct supports her claim of ownership. The outcome of the lawsuit could set a precedent for how verbal agreements are handled in property disputes.
