ARK Invest Launches Income ETF Tied to Innovation Stocks
ARK Investment Management LLC has launched the ARK Active Autocallable Income ETF (ARKY), targeting a 17.5% annual income. The fund combines ARK's innovation equity universe with a volatility harvesting strategy.

ARK Investment Management LLC, an investment adviser focused on disruptive innovation, has launched the ARK Active Autocallable Income ETF (ARKY). The fund, which began trading on the Cboe BZX Exchange, aims to provide investors with an income stream by combining ARK's innovation-focused equities with a volatility harvesting strategy.
The ARKY ETF targets a 17.5% annual coupon, prioritizing income consistency over headline yield. The strategy is designed to convert the higher volatility inherent in disruptive innovation stocks into a regular payment stream. Each position in the portfolio references a single stock from ARK's innovation universe, with holdings diversified across 25 to 50 single-stock autocallables.
Sub-advisor SCG Asset Management actively manages the fund by calibrating strike levels, maturities, and payoff structures based on evolving market conditions. This active management aims to minimize net asset value erosion and maintain stable income generation. The ETF structure provides the income profile of a structured note within a daily-liquid ETF wrapper, offering 1099 tax reporting and no investment minimums or lock-up periods.
ARK Invest founder Cathie Wood stated that the fund challenges the perception of innovation as solely a growth driver. "We believe the volatility created by disruptive innovation is not simply a risk to be managed but an opportunity to be harvested," Wood said. ARKY is structured to transform this volatility into a compelling income stream, potentially broadening access to innovation investing.
The launch comes as the equity income product market has grown significantly, with investors seeking new income sources beyond traditional fixed income and dividend strategies. ARKY aims to capitalize on the elevated volatility in innovative growth companies to generate attractive cash flow.
