Art Competition Winners to Be Exhibited at Sotheby's New York
Works from the Art Renewal Center's (ARC) International ARC Salon Competition, the world's largest for representational art, will be featured at Sotheby's in New York. The exhibition includes nearly 100 artists.
New York, NY – An exhibition featuring nearly 100 artists from the Art Renewal Center's (ARC) 17th and 18th International ARC Salon Competitions will open at Sotheby's New York on July 17, 2026. The ARC Salon is recognized as the largest competition for representational art globally for the 21st century.
The exhibition showcases selected works chosen from over 8,500 submissions representing 87 countries. Of these, 46 artworks will be available for bidding in a benefit auction held online via sothebys.com throughout the exhibition dates, aiming to demonstrate that contemporary realism remains a relevant and evolving art form.
The ARC Salon Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity, collaborates with art organizations and schools worldwide to present contemporary themes and universal human experiences. The competition awards over $260,000 in cash prizes and includes categories such as Figurative, Portraiture, Imaginative Realism, Drawing, Landscape, Still Life, Animals, and a Teen category.
Public viewing begins July 17, with an artist meet-and-greet event scheduled for July 18. A special "Art and Beauty Behind Fashion" event on July 25 will feature couture outfits by designers from Fashion Week San Diego, inspired by selected ARC Salon winning artworks, presented on live models.
