Art Museum Launches Artist-in-Residence Program
The Ashley Gibson Barnett Museum of Art is launching its inaugural Artist-in-Residence Program, featuring acclaimed artist Reynier Llanes.
Lakeland, Fla. – The Ashley Gibson Barnett Museum of Art (AGB) at Florida Southern College has announced the launch of its first Artist-in-Residence Program. The program will host acclaimed artist Reynier Llanes for a two-and-a-half-month residency.
Llanes, a Cuban-born visual artist, will be working on new pieces during his stay, which begins in September 2026. These new works will be exhibited at the museum.
As part of the residency, Llanes will also engage with the community through various events and workshops. This initiative aims to provide the public with opportunities to connect with the artist and his creative process.
The AGB museum's residency program is intended to foster artistic creation and provide a supportive environment for artists. It also seeks to enhance the museum's role in art education and scholarship.
