Artist Sells Taylor Swift Wedding "Garbage" to Fans
New York-based artist Justin Gignac profited from the hype surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding by collecting and selling trash from outside the venue. Fans purchased the limited "Not Invited Edition" packages as mementos.

New York artist Justin Gignac capitalized on the attention surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's July 3rd wedding by collecting and selling refuse gathered from the periphery of the Madison Square Garden event.
Gignac's "Not Invited Edition" series featured small boxes containing items such as discarded earbuds and can tabs, packaged to signify their origin outside the exclusive celebrity gathering. Each box was marked with the wedding date and a phrase referencing the event.
A limited run of 50 boxes was priced at $25 and sold out within 24 hours. Gignac aims to create a total of 89 units, a tribute to Swift's birth year, 1989, if sufficient materials can be sourced.
Gignac's long-standing art project, New York City Garbage, involves collecting and selling urban detritus. The project explores themes of value and attachment to objects associated with significant cultural moments.
