Arun Aggarwal Appointed SVP, Business Technology at Fortum
Fortum Oyj has appointed Arun Aggarwal as Senior Vice President, Business Technology, and a member of its Executive Management. He will oversee the company's IT and digital transformation.
Fortum Oyj announced the appointment of Arun Aggarwal, 49, as Senior Vice President (SVP), Business Technology, and a member of the company's Executive Management, effective mid-November 2018. This is a newly created position within the company.
In his role, Aggarwal will be responsible for Fortum's group-wide strategic IT operations, as well as digital innovation and transformation initiatives. He will report directly to Fortum's President and CEO, Pekka Lundmark.
Aggarwal joins Fortum from IBM Corporation, where he served as an Executive Advisor. His previous experience includes leadership roles such as Global CIO and Digital Transformation leader at Cemex Inc., a publicly traded building materials company, and consulting positions at firms including BearingPoint and KPMG Consulting.
Fortum aims to be a digital leader in the ongoing energy sector transformation. CEO Pekka Lundmark stated that digitalization is reshaping the energy system across the entire value chain, enabling new data-driven business models. Aggarwal's extensive track record in digital transformation and IT leadership is expected to support this strategic direction.
