Ascletis' Experimental Combo Outperforms Other Weight Loss Drugs in Preclinical Study
Ascletis Pharma presented preclinical data for its new combination drug, ASC36_35 FDC, showing superior weight loss compared to eloralintide/tirzepatide combination in a diet-induced obese animal model.

Hong Kong-based Ascletis Pharma has presented preclinical research findings for its novel, once-monthly combination drug candidate, ASC36_35 FDC.
The study, conducted on a diet-induced obese (DIO) animal model using rodents, demonstrated that ASC36_35 FDC achieved superior weight loss results when compared to a combination of eloralintide and tirzepatide administered concurrently.
The investigational drug, ASC36_35 FDC, is a co-formulation of ASC36 and ASC35 peptides, targeting amylin and GLP-1R/GIPR receptors, respectively. Ascletis suggests this combination holds the potential to offer more effective weight loss solutions for individuals with obesity.
Ascletis CEO Jinzi Jason Wu stated that the company's belief in the combination's effectiveness is based on these preclinical outcomes. The data were presented orally at the 62nd European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) Annual Meeting held in Milan, Italy, from late September to early October 2026.
Ascletis is developing ASC36_35 FDC using its proprietary Ultra-Long-Acting Platform (ULAP) technology, designed to enable sustained drug release and efficacy.
