Chinese memory manufacturer Asgard has announced that its DDR5 memory modules, built with domestic 3G8 DRAM particles, have successfully achieved an overclock of 8800 MT/s. The test was conducted on an Asus ROG MAXIMUS Z890 APEX ENCORE motherboard, with memory timings set at CL46-56-56-132.

The specific modules, part of Asgard's Valkyrie Gen II Yaoyao RGB and Heimdall Yaoyao Special Commemorative Edition series, are rated for 6000 MT/s and use 24GB configurations (2x24GB). The 8800 MT/s speed represents a substantial increase over their rated performance.

Notably, the Asus ROG MAXIMUS Z890 APEX ENCORE motherboard features a 2 DIMM design, which is generally considered more conducive to high memory overclocking than 4 DIMM configurations. This suggests that the domestic 3G8 DRAM particles may hold further potential for increased data transfer rates on Intel platforms.

This achievement signifies a development in China's domestic semiconductor capabilities. Asgard's success indicates growing potential for locally sourced memory components in high-performance computing applications.
