Strategy game publisher Stardock Entertainment and developer Oxide Games have announced that the grand-scale sci-fi real-time strategy (RTS) sequel, Ashes of the Singularity II, is set to launch on November 10. The game will be available on Steam and the Stardock website.
The original Ashes of the Singularity, released in 2016, was notable as one of the first games to natively support DirectX 12 and was recognized for its demanding hardware requirements. The sequel continues this tradition, returning players to large-scale galactic warfare where tens of thousands of units can engage simultaneously across continent-sized maps.
The game features returning factions from the original, including the post-human PHC (Post Human Conflict) and the AI-driven Substrate. A new addition, based on player demand, is the "Earth United Forces" (UEF) faction, introducing new strategic dynamics.
Ashes of the Singularity II will include a single-player campaign, as well as cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes set across a solar system. The game is designed to push the limits of modern multi-core processors through advanced rendering techniques.
