Asia and investment companies popular among fund investors in August

Fund investors at Nordnet showed a strong preference for funds focused on Asia and emerging markets during August, according to the financial services company's data. Investment company funds also remained a popular choice for savers.

The market experienced increased volatility in August, influenced by rising infection rates and signals of tighter monetary policy from the US Federal Reserve. Emerging markets, particularly China, faced setbacks due to stricter government regulations and lower vaccination rates, impacting the performance of related funds.

Despite market downturns, investors increased their buying activity in these regions. Frida Bratt, Chief Economist at Nordnet, commented that while the discount is a key argument for investing in investment companies, recent discussions have slightly reduced their premiums, yet savings continued unabated in funds like Spiltan Aktiefond Investmentbolag.

Leading the list of most purchased funds were index funds such as Länsförsäkringar Global Indexnära and Länsförsäkringar Tillväxtmarknad Indexnära. The top-performing fund in terms of purchases was Spiltan Aktiefond Investmentbolag.
